On February 22, the air pollution has not been improved in Hanoi and many other Northern provinces. This situation has been lasting for the past few days. It was recorded in the early morning on the same day, the air quality index (AQI) at monitoring stations in Hanoi, namely Tu Liem, Pham Van Dong, Tay Mo, Thanh Cong, Minh Khai, My Dinh, and Hang Dau was always above 250; in the afternoon, the index dropped to 200. According to Air Visual, Hanoi was the second-most polluted city in the world after Dhaka City in Bangladesh. According to experts, amid the context that schools closed because of the Covid-19 outbreak, and there was no traffic congestion, the fact that the air quality in Hanoi remained at a very poor level is an alarming problem. Hanoi (VNS/VNA) - The State Bank of Vietnam should consider developing a roadmap to remove regulations on credit growth limits and interest rate caps as it isn’t suitable due to the country’s achievements in stabilising the nation’s economy, according to experts. The General Statistics Office (GSO) reported that the country’s GDP growth reached 7.38 percent in the first quarter of 2018, the best first-quarter performance in the last ten years, backed by growth in manufacturing and agriculture, as well as momentum from high GDP growth rates of 7.46 percent and 7.65 percent in third and fourth quarters of 2017. Meanwhile, January-March average annual inflation was also controlled at 2.82 percent, GSO reported. Hanoi (VNA) – By now, the Ministry of Transport has not decided to suspend the air routes between Vietnam and the Republic of Korea (RoK) in face of the complicated development of the acute respiratory disease caused by a novel coronavirus (COVID-19) in the Northeast Asian country, a high-ranking official said on February 23. Speaking to the VNA, Deputy Minister Le Anh Tuan further added that RoK passengers who have booked or bought tickets to Vietnam have canceled their plans and currently flights from Vietnam only carry RoK passengers back to their country.
