VietNamNet Bridge – Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge smartphones have been welcomed warmly by Vietnamese for their design and hardware. The phones were introduced at an event in Barcelona on March 1. Vietnamese telecom engineers praised the products but said they did not yet know the selling price. Tran Manh Hiep, the administrator of TinhTe, a telecoms forum, said the design and materials for the Galaxy S6s are now at the level of phones made by HTC, Sony and Apple. Hiep said that previously Samsung’s products lagged far behind their rivals in terms of designs and materials. "Now with the new designs, Samsung fans feel better and find phones are worth the money they spend," he said. Galaxy S6, which is expected to replace Galaxy S5 as the leading product of the South Korean manufacturer, has design features quite different from the existing Samsung models. S6 has a back cover made of glass and the phone body’s edge is made of metal. Existing Samsung models are made … [Read more...] about Vietnamese give thumbs up to new Samsung Galaxy S6 design

A new rumor says Samsung's fancy bendable displays could come to market in its next flagship phone. Not only is it rumored that the next batch of galactic goodies will pack a quad-core processor and 13-megapixel camera, as CNET's Scott Webster recently reported, but there's also word it could come with an "unbreakable" screen, according to one analyst quoted by Reuters. … [Read more...] about Will the Samsung Galaxy S4 be ‘unbreakable’?
Samsung's Galaxy S6 You want fancy? Samsung Electronics is going to give you some fancy. I recently got a chance to play around with the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge, two upcoming flagship models the smartphone manufacturer introduced on Sunday. Both are clearly an effort by the electronics company to address criticisms about the real and perceived quality of their upmarket devices. If you haven't been paying superclose attention to the vicissitudes of the smartphone market, here's the fast version of the past year or two: Samsung's good fortune, in part, has been due to the company's success making phones for every kind of customer and doing so at a lower cost than its competitors. Indeed, the company's victories in the marketplace led many to wonder whether Apple would have to reverse course and, instead of focusing almost entirely on the higher end of the market, start making a line of less-expensive phones. But that turned out to be the wrong analysis. Apple has been posting … [Read more...] about Hands-on with the Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge
Samsung Electronics sold 10 million Galaxy S5 units worldwide in the smartphone's first 25 days on the market, according to the Korea Economic Daily. Sounds like a lot of phones in just three and a half weeks, but let's take a look at previous product debuts for some context. … [Read more...] about How Samsung’s 10 million Galaxy S5 sales stack up against the iPhone
Samsung unveiled Monday its new flagship Galaxy S5 smartphone armed with a fingerprint scanner and a built-in heart rate sensor to defend its place as the world's industry leader. Samsung made about 30 percent of all smartphones sold in the world last year, nearly twice the share of archrival Apple, which traditionally skips the annual World Mobile Congress. But Samsung, which announced its new devices on the sidelines of the February 24-27 event, is nevertheless scrambling for new revenue sources as competition in mature markets intensifies. In a struggle to stand out from the competition, including a rising challenge from China, Samsung showed off the Galaxy S5 with a light sensor on the back that gives a heart rate reading when the user touches it with his or her fingertip. Though the case is plastic, as with earlier versions of the Galaxy series of smartphones, it is water and dust-proof, and has a leathery feel on the back. The smartphone boasts a full high … [Read more...] about Samsung launches flagship Galaxy S5 smartphone
