Hanoi (VNA) – Deputy Ministers of National Defence Nguyen Tan Cuong and Vo Minh Luong have been promoted from the rank of Lieutenant General to Senior Lieutenant General. Party General Secretary and State President Nguyen Phu Trong, who is also Secretary of the Central Military Commission, Chairman of the National Defence and Security Council, and commander of the armed forces, handed over the promotion decisions to the two deputy ministers at a ceremony held in Hanoi on January 22. Congratulating Cuong and Luong, Minister of National Defence General Ngo Xuan Lich described their promotions as a great honour of the officers, their families, and the Vietnam People’s Army. Vietnam, Israel begin negotiation over labour cooperation
Tel Aviv (VNA) – Vietnam and Israel kicked off negotiation over a labour cooperation agreement with an online meeting on January 21. At the meeting, both sides discussed technical issues to clarify their labour policies and regulations, as well as issues of priority and concern. They agreed to finalise negotiations and sign the agreement as soon as possible in 2021, with a view to bringing more Vietnamese labourers to work in Israel in the field of agriculture. Israel has a high demand for migrant workers, particularly in agriculture, healthcare, construction and restaurants, among others, while Vietnam has an abundant supply of hardworking and educated workforce.
