Vietnam Border Guard Command and General Department of Defense Industry to boost cooperation
The event was co-held by Commander of the Vietnam Border Guard Command Lieutenant General Le Duc Thai and Chief of the General Department of Defense Industry Lieutenant General Ho Quang Tuan. Over the past years, the General Department of Defense Industry’s affiliated units have produced equipment to meet all demands of the border troops’ task implementation in border areas and at sea. Since 2007, the general department has directed and instructed its shipyards to build a number of ships and boats for the border guard force. Meanwhile, the shipyards have actively worked with clients under the Vietnam Border Guard Command in repairing several patrol boats of the force. Particularly since 2021, the general department’s Factory Z173 has provided services for tens of arrivals of ships and boats operated by border guard units. Direction for disbursement tightened after mixed results
According to the Ministry of Finance, the disbursement of the state budget capital as of the end of July stood at nearly $8.1 billion, accounting for 34.47 per cent of the yearly plan and a slight on-year reduction. Of this, one centrally-run agency and 11 localities reported disbursement at more than 50 per cent, 17 ministries and agencies have reported less than 10 per cent, and the remaining met the national average. Some major infrastructure projects are delayed and costs are only going to go up in that case, Le Toan Specifically, in Ho Chi Minh City, the disbursement of public investment in the first seven months accounted for about 15 per cent of the total allocated capital or almost $1.4 billion. MND’s digital transformation plan reviewed
This was the first meeting of the board to evaluate the achievements in digital transformation in the MND over the past time and discuss and collect opinions to complete the plan before being carried out in the coming time. As reported, to accelerate the progress of digital transformation in the MND, last month the Defense Minister issued Decision 2521/QD-BQP on forming the compilation board and editing board for digital transformation plan in the MND by 2025 with a vision to 2030. Elephants enjoy a "buffet" of fruit and vegetables marked its World Elephant Day. World Elephant Day, observed on August 12, was created with the main objective of preserving and protecting this animal and seeking solutions to the problem of human-elephant conflict. A project on elephant preservation in Dak Lak, Dong Nai and Nghe An was approved by the Government in 2006. Recently, in Decision No. 413/QD-TTg dated March 31, 2022, the Prime Minister agreed with the project’s adjustment. Under the decision, the elephant conservation plan will be implemented until the end of 2025.
