Hanoi (VNA) – The number of COVID-19 cases in Vietnam remains at 1,537 as no new infections were reported between 6pm on January 16 and 6pm on January 17. That includes 693 cases of domestic transmission, according to the National Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control. As of January 17, 1,380 patients have recovered from the disease while the number of related fatalities is still kept at 35. Ten of those still under treatment have tested negative for SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19, once, another ten twice, and ten others thrice. “Although there are numerous regulations on the standards of such farms’ waste treatment system in Vietnam, promoting large-scale or high-tech breeding, environmental pollution troubles in husbandry are still rampant. This is the first State-owned enterprise in Binh Dinh province to win the FSC certificate for plantation forest. Chairman of Quy Nhon Forestry Co., Ltd Tran Nguyen Tu said that the FSC forest certification will help raise the economic value of products from forest of the company. In the coming time, the company will invest in developing a processing plant to complete a complete chain of forestry development, including high quality saplings production, afforestation, sustainable forest management and wood processing. Standing Vice Chairman of the provincial People's Committee Nguyen Tuan Thanh said that the FSC certification is a great encouragement, recognizing efforts of the firm in sustainable and responsible forest management and development.
