(VOVworld) - Japan's Prime Minister Shinzo Abe says he hopes to hold talks with Chinese President Xi Jinping later this year on the sidelines of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) forum scheduled for November, in Beijing to mend strained bilateral relations. Since assuming the premiership for the second time in December 2012, Mr Abe has been unable to hold official one-on-one talks with Mr Xi. Tokyo and Beijing have long been at odds over territorial claims and historical grievances largely tied to Tokyo's militarism in the first half of the 20th century. (VOVworld)- Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on Wednesday held talks with Chinese Premier Li Keqiang in Beijing during his three-day visit to China. Singh will meet with Chinese President Xi Jinping and Zhang Dejiang, Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress. Prime Minister Singh will also deliver a speech at the Party School of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China. On February 19, Irish Prime Minister Enda Kenny held talks with Visiting Chinese Vice President Xi Jinping on deepening bilateral ties between the two countries. Xi Jinping visited the Shannon Free Zone in west Ireland Saturday and said that China and Ireland should deepen their mutually beneficial economic cooperation.
