Australian prime minister to visit Vietnam this weekend
Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese will pay an official visit to Vietnam on Saturday at the invitation of Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. This will be his first visit to Vietnam since he took office in 2022. The Australian prime minister’s visit will be made two months after Australian Governor-General David Hurley’s state visit to Vietnam. His two-day visit is aimed at marking the 50th anniversary of diplomatic ties between Vietnam and Australia. MND presents gifts to 70 revolutionary contributors in Vinh Long province
During the meeting, Major General Doan Quang Hoa presented MND’s gifts to the national contributors from Vinh Long province, affirming that over the past years, the Central Military Commission, MND directed functional units to closely work with relevant ministries and organs to make recommendations to the Party and State to take care of policy for fallen soldiers, war veterans, and national contributors, and implement policies for military and its rear. According to Vo Quang Lam, deputy general director of Electricity of Vietnam (EVN), the state utility will increase its imports of electricity from China and Laos to supplement domestic power supply. EVN is attempting to ensure electricity supply for the rest of this quarter, which is the most challenging time of year in terms of ensuring supply. “The increase in electricity capacity imported from Laos can be accomplished this year. EVN is currently awaiting Laos’ completion of the line to connect Vietnam’s imports of electricity to the line system running through the Tuong Duong district of Nghe An province,” Lam said. Thirteenth delegation concludes visit to Truong Sa archipelago and DK1 platform
The mission was joined by delegates from the Vietnam Oil and Gas Group (Petrovietnam or PVN), the State Treasury of Vietnam, Hai Duong province, the Vietnam Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development, Medistar Co., Ltd., artists, and reporters from the central and local press agencies.
