Deputy PM addresses 78th session of ESCAP
Guided by the theme “A common agenda to advance sustainable development in Asia and the Pacific,” the annual session brought together leaders, senior government officials and about 700 representatives of 51 countries and territories which are ESCAP members, and President of the U.N. General Assembly Abdulla Shahid and U.N. Secretary-General António Guterres. $4.33 million industrial wastewater plant inaugurated in Binh Duong Province
The first plant applies biological technology with capacity of between 10,000 cubic meters and 18,000 cubic meters per day to treat industrial wastewater into clean water for daily use and production to meet the Ministry of Natural resources and Environment and the Ministry of Health’s requirements. Its capacity is twice higher than wastewater discharged from the Song Than Industrial Park. After operation, the plant will treat wastewater from the Song Than 1 and the Song Than 2 in Di An Town and neighboring areas. Deputy Director General of the Vietnam Environment Administration Hoang Van Thuc said that the government take heed to wastewater treatment in industrial parks because the government are calling for social contribution to wastewater treatment in industrial parks and handicraft villages and residential quarters. Food bank opens warehouse in Mekong Delta
Non-profit organisation Food Bank Vietnam opens a food bank warehouse in the Cửu Long (Mekong) Delta province of Bến Tre on May 21.
