SEA Games 31 concludes: Vietnam helps raise regional sports level
Vietnam impresses regional sports delegations and visitors who felt nothing but warmth, friendship, and hospitality. Vietnam has helped raise the level of the Southeast Asian Games (SEA Games) by including Olympic and Asian Games (ASIAD) sports in the competition program. Ramon Fernandez, Head of the Philippines sports delegation, gave the idea when sharing some impressions on the organization, and the qualification of international referees in SEA Games 31 that was held in Hanoi and 11 nearby localities. He said the host country has been very open and tried to create a fair game, contributing to raising the level of SEA Games. PM Chính to chair a national dialogue with farmers
The Central Committee of the Việt Nam Farmers’ Union (VNFU) announced the 4th national dialogue between PM Phạm Minh Chính and farmers on Monday, which is planned for May 29. VNS Photo Tố Như HÀ NỘI — The fourth national dialogue between Prime Minister Phạm Minh Chính and farmers, will take place on May 29 in the northern province of Sơn La, the Central Committee of the Việt Nam Farmers’ Union (VNFU) announced on Monday. About 500 people are expected to join the dialogue in person, including 300 outstanding farmers, representatives from agricultural co-operatives and companies, scientists and experts. The event will be broadcast to another 62 localities nationwide. Qatar World Cup audience projected at 5 billion, says FIFA boss
The 2022 World Cup hosted by Qatar is expected to be watched by 5 billion people around the world, FIFA president Gianni Infantino said on Monday. The TV audiences for the 2018 World Cup in Russia was a record-breaking 3.5 billion people. Qatar, a small but wealthy Gulf Arab state, will host the first World Cup in the Middle East starting late November. Its ruling Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani on Monday criticised attacks on Qatar by some people, "including many in positions of influence", over its hosting of the event. "Even today, there are still people who cannot accept the idea, that an Arab Muslim country, would host a tournament, like the World Cup," he said in a speech at the World Economic Forum. He said Qatar, like other states, was "not perfect" but has pushed reforms and development.
