Serious damage was recorded when a painting shop in District 1, Ho Chi Minh City burst into flames on Friday morning. The fire broke out at the painting shop on Hai Ba Trung Street at around 6:30 am on Friday. A failed attempt to control the blaze by local people led to flames spreading to a house block next door. Famous painter’s works on display for first time
A painting by Bui Xuan Phai is on display in Ho Chi Minh City. (Photo: VNA) Hanoi (VNA) – Sixty works by late famous painter Bui Xuan Phai, many of which were created toward the end of his life, are on display in Ho Chi Minh City. The oil and gouache works are showcased at the exhibition “ Remember Painter Bui Xuan Phai ,” according to Tran Hau Tuan, a collector and the organiser of the event which is scheduled to run to July 4. Around 90% of the works are shown for the first time ever, Tuan said, adding he intended to open the exhibition in 2020 to coincide with Phai’s 100th birth anniversary but it was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Tuan has been collecting the works of many famous artists since the 1980s and has great passion for Phai’s. At the event (Photo: VNA) Thua Thien-Hue (VNA) – An exhibition of 20 enameled bronze paintings is taking place at the An Dinh Palace in the central province of Thua Thien – Hue’s ancient city of Hue, becoming a magnet to tourists. Held in response to the local signature Hue Festival this year, the event treated visitors to paintings crafted by Do Huu Triet and his co-workers based on illustrations in the 1925 printed version of “ Truyen Kieu ” (The Tale of Kieu) – a masterpiece by Vietnamese poet Nguyen Du (1765 – 1820). The illustration was made by painter Manh Hung. Enameled bronze art, or phap lam in Vietnamese, is the name of an art product with copper core. Works of Bui Xuan Phai shown to public for first time
'Remember Painter Bui Xuan Phai,' an exhibition to mark his 100th birthday – postponed from 2020 – is on until July 4 at 357/2 Nguyen Trong Tuyen in HCMC's Tan Binh District. Tran Hau Tuan, a collector and the event organizer, said 60 oil and gouache paintings are on display, 90 percent of them for the first time ever. Tuan has been collecting the works of many famous artists since the 1980s and has great passion for Phai’s. He said the exhibition had been scheduled for September 2020 to coincide with Phai’s birthday, but was postponed due to the Covid-19 pandemic. More than 500 patients participate in zero-dong market at Thu Duc Hospital
On June 26, Thu Duc City Hospital opened the seventh zero-dong market after nearly two years of suspension due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The theme of this year's zero-dong market is " Love sharing - Giving is forever", with the participation of 35 stalls sponsored by units, individuals, and patrons, serving free of charge for more than 500 poor patients, who are being treated at Thu Duc City Hospital, and underprivileged, disabled, and helpless people in the area.
