A Vietnamese man has chosen to follow the newest agricultural trend which guarantees both profit and quality, with human health always in his mind. While most villagers in Son La Province, located in northwestern Vietnam, still rely heavily on pesticides when growing vegetables and fruits, 30-year-old Vu Xuan Thanh pioneers clean agriculture practices with his organic crops. The Na San region, near Son La’s airport, is where Thanh’s orange garden is located. Customers are often invited to visit, observe, and acquaint themselves with clean agricultural practices that are becoming Thanh’s values to guarantee safety and quality of the goods he sells. Elderly Vietnamese man spends two decades sewing free uniforms for poor students
An elderly man in Ho Chi Minh City has tirelessly made gratis school uniforms for disadvantaged children in different areas in Vietnam for around twenty years out of love for them. Nguyen Ngoc Giao, a war veteran, has been seen working by his half-a-century-old treadle sewing machine from 8:00 am to 11:00 am, and between a noon rest and 3:00 pm almost every day at his house in the metropolis’ Tan Binh District. Giao has maintained the habit for quite a long time, giving a large number of uniforms to poor students. H1N1 influenza A infections detected in HCM City school
Many students at a school in HCM City have been infected with the H1N1 influenza A according to the HCM City Centre for Disease Control (HCDC). Many students at Vo Truong Toan Primary School in District 10 are infected with the H1N1 influenza A A report from the centre said that some 20 students at Vo Truong Toan Primary School in District 10 showed flu symptoms such as high temperatures, coughing, sore throat, fatigue and vomiting on March 15 and 16. Some pupils even had a high temperature of more than 39 degrees Celsius. HCDC randomly took blood samples of six sick students and the test results all came back positive for H1N1 influenza A. The centre has co-operated with the city Children's Hospital to provide check-ups and treatment for the sick children. No more pupils have been infected with the H1N1 strain, the centre said.
