Mangos are packaged to prepare for export (Photo: VNA) Hanoi (VNA) – Meeting tougher technical standards in production and preservation is the key to helping Vietnam’s agricultural products, including fruits, actively raise their export volume and value, an official has said. Nguyen Quoc Toan, Acting Director of the Agro Processing and Market Development Authority under the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, made the remark at a workshop in Hanoi on June 19 that focused on the Republic of Korea (RoK)’s management system of the plant protection product (PPP) residue list for imported agricultural products. He said although agricultural products of Vietnam boast huge export potential, only when they meet strict production and preservation standards can the possibility of being exported directly to such markets as the RoK, Japan, Taiwan (China) and Europe be improved. European stocks surge on Johnson election triumph, US trade deal
London stocks and the British pound jumped Friday after an election triumph for Conservative Prime Minister Boris Johnson that analysts said will bring clarity to Brexit proceedings and unlock stronger economic growth. Other European stock markets -- although lagging buoyant London, which rose over two percent at one point -- also powered ahead, supported by confirmation of a partial trade deal between the United States and China. However, Wall Street's rally petered out, with American equities finishing little changed on the day both Beijing and Washington finally said they were on the same page. Stocks had rallied Thursday in anticipation of the trade deal with China, but then declined when the pact was announced. "But it's certainly great news on Brexit … [Read more...] about European stocks surge on Johnson election triumph, US trade deal
The costly competition in the retail industry
Foreign retailers, from Metro, Auchan, Casino Group to Parkson, have had to leave Vietnam because they did not understand the market well. Foreign retailers, from Metro, Auchan, Casino Group to Parkson, have had to leave Vietnam because they did not understand the market well. Let the Vietnamese spirit soar
Illustration by Trịnh Lập By Nguyễn Mỹ Hà The dreams of millions of Vietnamese people came true on Tuesday night. They had been dreaming for 30 years, or was it 60 as some said? Now it doesn’t matter, as the dreams are reality. The Việt Nam men’s U22 football team won a gold medal at the 30th Southeast Asian Games in the Philippines by defeating Indonesia 3-0 in the final. A popular saying goes ‘phúc bất trùng lai’, which means happiness does not repeat itself, but the men’s victory came just days after the women’s team won their own gold medal at the Games. Double happiness, truly, because despite the fact the women’s football team had won for the sixth time, it was the men’s first triumph. “Though this is the sixth time,” said women’s coach Mai Đức Chung, “I still feel very touched.” Sheer joy and happiness brightened … [Read more...] about Let the Vietnamese spirit soar
