Viet Nam is one of countries which has strong commitment in implementing the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women (CEDAW), Bejing Platform for Action and Sustainable Development Goals SDGs. Ten years ago, it was the first time Viet Nam prepared and developed its first remarkable National Strategy on Gender Equality (NSGE) that defined the direction and priorities to promote gender equality in the period 2011-2020. Tra fish exports to Russia slump Export revenue of tra fish to the Russian market in the first 10 months of this year fell 31 percent compared to last year to 12.5 million USD, reported the Vietnam Association of Seafood Exporters and Producers (VASEP). According to the association, the sharp drop followed last year’s declining trend, and was likely to continue for the rest of 2019. VASEP said that in the last two years, Russia’s tra fish consumption has been modest, with unstable import prices. Meanwhile, the European country’s imports of frozen tra fish fillets have increased slightly by 3 percent, but that of frozen whole fish have fallen 29 percent./. Despite having gained access to nearly 200 countries and territories with an annual turnover of US$40 billion, Vietnam still struggled to sustainably expand and develop markets for its agricultural commodities in harsh conditions. Hanoi adopts plan to cut emissions
Hanoi's Department of Natural Resources and Environment has outlined a plan to reduce air pollution in 2020. Use of disposable plastic items should be stopped to reduce pollution. — Photo suckhoedoisong.vn 'Green Initiates for Hà Nội' will focus on air quality management, waste management, energy, urban planning, and green living with sustainable consumption. The department will develop an air monitoring network using low-cost air pollution sensors in selected areas of the city to provide online updates for the public regarding pollution levels. Air sensors will initially be installed in public places and 25 schools and offices in the city. To increase public awareness about air pollution, regular activities will be held and the issue of air quality will be included in the school curriculum. Logo competition kicks off ahead of 45th anniversary of New Zealand-Vietnam ties
The New Zealand Embassy in Vietnam on Thursday launched a competition for creative logo designs that capture the strong bilateral relationship between the two countries in honor of the upcoming 45th anniversary of diplomatic relations in 2020. The winning logo will feature innovative and modern design styles with clear shapes and colors, the embassy said at a ceremony held to launch the competition at the Hanoi University of Industrial Fine Arts.
