Hanoi (VNA) - Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc on January 22 called upon border guards to increase efforts to effectively prevent illegal exit and entry, helping to fight the COVID-19 pandemic. During a meeting with border guards ahead of the Tet (Lunar New Year) holiday, the PM said the border force must raise its readiness for combatting illegal crossings and responding to natural disasters. Communications work also needs to be stepped up so that fishermen will not violate fishing regulations, he said, stressing the significance of external affairs in border areas. 1,587 delegates to attend 13th National Party Congress
Hanoi (VNA) - Up to 1,587 delegates representing more than 5.1 million Party members nationwide will attend the 13th National Party Congress from January 25 to February 2, up nearly 80 delegates against the 12th Congress and the largest number among the 13 congresses. The figures were released by deputy head of the Party Central Committee’s Organisation Commission Mai Van Chinh at a press conference on the threshold of the opening ceremony of the 13th Congress at the National Convention Centre on January 22. According to Chinh, among the delegates, 13.99 percent are women, and 11.03 percent are ethnic minorities.
