Viet Nam News HCM CITY- The partnership between Government, enterprises and civil society is vital to achieving the UN's Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) in Việt Nam, experts have said The SDGs were adopted by 193 countries a year ago with qualitative objectives across the social, economic and environmental dimensions to be achieved by 2030. They are 17 goals with 169 targets and 231 indicators, Jasmine Jaruphand, the Asia Pacific Regional Lead for the Sustainable Development Goals Action Campaign, said. "It is the time to build new partnerships and alliances to make sure the SDGs are a reality for everyone, everywhere by 2030," she told a workshop held in HCM City yesterday (September 20). On 26/03/2015, a delegation from New-York Historical Society (USA) visited and met Vietnam National Museum of History (VNMH). Dr. Nguyen Van Doan, Deputy Director of VNMH hosted the guests. They exchanged on a co-operative project for an exhibition that will showcase the materials and objects related to the Vietnam War 1955-1975. My Tran Born in 1981 to journalist parents who often hosted gatherings that included freewheeling discussions of the social and political issues of the day, Thong cites exposure from an early age to this open style of discourse as a paramount factor in his own decision to engage with social and political issues in his art. Thong's decision to replace the faces of his subjects in his latest series with hands was driven in part by a desire to make them universal, anonymous beings without individuality or nationality. Another reason was Thong's conception of hands as uniquely expressive appendages with the capacity to express a range of emotions - anger, power, fear, happiness - and meaning through the symbols and gestures they can be used to form. One issue that animates Thong and which appears in several of the Hands paintings, is the current disputes between China and its Southeast Asian neighbors over island territories in the South China Sea. General Secretary Nong Duc Manh has asked Party committees, administrations and mass organisations to be aware of the importance of the upcoming election to the National Assembly, considering it a big political event of the entire society. The upcoming election is of great significance as it will be an opportunity for voters nationwide to execute their political right and elect the most worthy candidates to the legislative body, said Mr Manh at a national conference in Hanoi on February 9.
