Nearly 9,000 petrol stations call for support from PM

February 2, 2023 by dtinews.vn

Nearly 9,000 petrol stations nationwide have sent a group letter to PM Pham Minh Chinh, asking for his support to amend petrol trading regulations. Illustrative photo In their letter, the petrol retail businesses complained that many policies have become outdated, causing them great losses. They called for the amendment of Decree 83/2014 and Decree 95/2021 on petrol trading. The decrees regulate that petrol retail businesses can only sign contracts with one supplier and are often dependent on them, badly affecting their competitiveness. "That only supplier usually refuses to sell the products ahead of a price hike as they want to wait and get higher profits," the letter said. "As such, we sometimes have to close due to a lack of supply." The retailers proposed that local authorities allow them to get products from at least three suppliers. The proposal has received support from the Ministry of Industry and Trade, which said that the decrees should be … [Read more...] about Nearly 9,000 petrol stations call for support from PM

February 3, 2023 by e.vnexpress.net

The property market and corporate lending are key issues that need to be addressed, and the Cabinet has scheduled a meeting of ministers this month to resolve current issues, he told a meeting Thursday. The property market accounts for around 11% of GDP and has a close relationship with many industries that create a large number of jobs. But since last year it has been facing difficulties due to tightened credit, excessive supply and lack of transparency. Many projects have been suspended due to a cash shortage. Hong Kong offers free flights after Covid isolation

February 2, 2023 by e.vnexpress.net

The government's rebranding campaign, "Hello, Hong Kong", bills itself as an effort to tell "good stories" about the southern Chinese city. Promising "no isolation, no quarantine and no restrictions" during a speech to business and tourism heavyweights, Chief Executive John Lee announced 500,000 free air tickets for visitors to experience the city's "hustle and bustle." The giveaway will open in March, with another 80,000 tickets up for grabs to residents in the summer. "This, ladies and gentlemen, is probably the world's biggest welcome ever," Lee said. Adherence to Beijing's zero-Covid doctrine of quarantine, closed borders and face masks kept Hong Kong largely virus-free until a deadly Omicron outbreak at the start of 2022. But it also contributed to an economic recession and the exodus of more than 2.5% of the population. Even as business leaders warned Hong Kong would need a full Covid exit plan before any meaningful reboot, officials insisted on gradually rolling back … [Read more...] about Hong Kong offers free flights after Covid isolation
