Nguyen Quoc Ky, chairman of Vietravel, extended thanks to the various Vietnamese representative agencies operating abroad for their efforts to organise cultural exchange schemes and provide assistance to introduce Vietnamese tourism to prospective travelers in other countries. JAKARTA/HANOI -- Just Energy Transition Partnership (JETP) discussions on the early retirement of coal-fired power plants in Indonesia may have hit a snag as a local official said on Monday that western countries are not ready to finance such projects. JETP, a financing scheme made up of equity investments, grants and concessionary loans from members of Group of Seven (G7), multilateral banks and private lenders, is aimed at helping developing nations accelerate their shift towards cleaner energy sources in the power sector and cut reliance on dirty fuel such as coal. South Africa was the first country to reach a deal under the JETP, securing a $8.5 billion financing pledge in 2021. Ho Chi Minh City district dismantles house occupying intersection for decade
The administration of Tan Phu District in Ho Chi Minh City on Monday pulled down a house that had occupied the intersection between three streets for 10 years. Following the district’s encouragement, the owner of the house at the intersection of Au Co, Luy Ban Bich, and Ba Van Streets agreed to hand over the property to the district for demolition, Nguyen Quoc Binh, vice-chairman of the Tan Phu District People’s Committee, told Tuoi Tre (Youth) newspaper the same day. After dismantling the house, the district will revitalize the area, Binh added. The administration of Tan Phu District in Ho Chi Minh City demolishes the house at the intersection of three streets. The house, measuring some 30 square meters, was still located at the intersection after a project to expand Luy Ban Bich Street was completed in 2014.
