GVR shares rose 0.7 per cent yesterday. — Photo GVR Shares bounced back strongly in the afternoon session, driven by increasing demand at the support price levels. On the Ho Chi Minh Stock Exchange, the VN-Index rose 0.91 per cent to close Tuesday at 1,032.43 points. The index had lost 2.11 per cent on Monday. Market breadth was positive with 279 rising stocks and 109 losing ones. Nearly 474.9 million shares worth VND8.3 trillion (US$352 million) were traded on HCM City’s bourse. The VN-30 Index, tracking the 30 biggest stocks on HoSE, gained 1.03 per cent to close at 1,035.04 points. In the VN-30 basket, 19 stocks gained while seven lost ground. Shares rise on foreign buying

VNM rose 1.2 per cent on Thursday. — Photo Vinamilk Local shares rose for a third day, buoyed by foreign trading and the positive performance of oil and bank stocks. On the Ho Chi Minh Stock Exchange, the VN-Index rose 0.44 per cent to close Thursday at 1,045.10 points. Market breadth was negative with 179 rising stocks and 195 losing ones. Nearly 431 million shares worth VND7.8 trillion (US$332 million) were traded on HCM City’s bourse. On HOSE, foreign investors were net buyers with a value of approximately VND336 billion. VNA/VNS Photo Shares gained for a fourth straight session on Friday thanks to the sharp rise of large-caps in the securities and real estate group, supporting the overall market.
