National history museum exhibition marks Party’s founding anniversary

The second section, which gives visitors a glimpse into the previous 12 Party Congresses, features reports, speeches, documents, and resolutions delivered and adopted at these events, as well as draft writings from Party General Secretaries. The third section highlights the preparatory work for the 13th National Party Congress, including all-level Party congresses and voters’ meetings. Through the exhibition, the museum hopes to provide the public, especially young people, with a better understanding about the CPV’s history alongside Vietnam’s achievements under the CPV’s leadership, said Director Nguyen Van Doan. This will help them be better aware of their responsibility to build a prosperous, peaceful, and developed Vietnam, he added. The exhibition will run through the end of May. ASEAN senior officials discuss preparations for AMM Retreat

Addressing the event, Deputy Foreign Minister Nguyen Quoc Dung thanked ASEAN member countries for supporting Vietnam in 2020, expressing his belief that Brunei will lead the ASEAN through challenges to recover from the pandemic. Vietnam is ready to cooperate with Brunei in performing the role of ASEAN Chair in 2021. The Vietnamese official suggested using the ASEAN fund for COVID-19 response to buy vaccines, first of all for medical staff, adding that Vietnam called on all ASEAN member countries to fully operate the Regional Reserve of Medical Supplies (RRMS). He stressed that the grouping should optimise the outcomes that ASEAN had achieved in 2020, proposing that key agencies in charge of ASEAN Community’s pillars continue to improve and complete the remaining action lines in the master plan for the 2025 ASEAN Community Vision. Vietnam pledges to support Brunei’s ASEAN Chair

Hanoi (VNA) – Vietnam will support and work closely with Brunei as Chair of ASEAN in 2021 so as to successfully realise set targets and initiatives, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh said when talking on the phone with Brunei Minister of Foreign Affairs II Dato Erywan Pehin Yusof on January 19. The Brunei minister congratulated Vietnam for excellently fulfilling its term as Chair of ASEAN in 2020, especially leading the bloc to overcome unprecedented difficulties and challenges. He shared the directions and priorities during the year Brunei serves as Chair of ASEAN in 2021 under the theme “We Care, We Prepare, We Prosper”, including initiatives on COVID-19 response and post-pandemic recovery which were approved in 2020, the building of a vision for ASEAN after 2025, promoting multilateral cooperation and a rule-based regional order, and people-oriented cooperative ideas.
