Vietnamese club make strong comeback in AFC Cup opener
Even when missing captain and defender Bui Tien Dung, Viettel’s squad power is still considered stronger than the opponent. The capital club showed domination right in the first minutes with consecutive shots from striker Geovane Magno. However, it was Young Elephants who scored first with a tap-in from Bounphachan Bounkong in the 6th minute. Conceding early affected the mentality of Viettel players as in the next 30 minutes, they created many chances but couldn’t convert them. Pedro Paolo missed two one-on-one chances against the opponent’s keeper while midfielder Nguyen Duc Hoang Minh got two comfortable tap-ins but he didn’t hit the target. However, it didn’t take long before Viettel equalized. Magno took a shot which forced the keeper to punch it out, but Paolo was quick to get a bicycle kick and scored. The equalizer took off the pressure from Viettel players and they got another goal from Paolo. This forward also assisted the third goal, which was scored by Hoang Minh. Roadmap needed to remove credit room
Illustrative photo. Speaking with Saigon Investment about the credit room, Dr. HO QUOC TUAN, University of Bristol, U.K., said that the world has seen several periods of crisis as currently present today. The general lesson that can be learnt when using credit lines is that many loans will turn into non-bank loans, so it is more difficult to control. When borrowing from banks, there are rules on capital adequacy besides many other regulations. When using the credit tool, the purpose to be achieved is not clear and it is not easy to set specific limits. JOURNALIST: - Sir, what do you think about the State Bank of Vietnam's opinion that if Vietnam removes the credit limit, then banks will race to credit markets, which will then lead to an increase in interest rates to mobilize and lend, thereby affecting the macro currency? Dr. HO QUOC TUAN: - This is not true at all. Because when the Covid-19 pandemic occurred, or even before the pandemic, central banks were not naive to think … [Read more...] about Roadmap needed to remove credit room
U.S. House passes gun-safety legislation as court expands gun rights
The House voted 234-193 for the bill. No Democrats were opposed, while 14 Republicans backed the measure. It was supported by major law enforcement groups and its passage was a rare defeat for U.S. gun manufacturers and the National Rifle Association. House action followed a late Thursday Senate vote of 65-33 to pass the bill, with 15 Republicans, including Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, in favor. Biden will sign the bill on Saturday morning, the White House said. Gun control has long been a divisive issue in the United States with multiple attempts to place new controls on gun sales failing time after time until Friday. The bill does not go as far as Democrats, including Biden, had sought. It includes provisions that would help states keep guns out of the hands of those deemed to be a danger to themselves or others and close the so-called boyfriend loophole by blocking gun sales to those convicted of abusing unmarried intimate partners. However, it did not ban sales … [Read more...] about U.S. House passes gun-safety legislation as court expands gun rights
