The Hanoitimes - The Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam has recently proposed that the Ministry of Transport recommend Aerospace Engineering Services JSC to be Airbus Group’s partner in building a facility to produce spare parts for aircraft. AESC, founded in 2008 and headquartered in Quang Minh Industrial Zone in Hanoi, is 100% Vietnamese-owned. CAAV’s director Lai Xuan Thanh said that AESC was more than sufficiently capable and that if a Vietnamese company were to become partner to Airbus, it would contribute to the development of the Vietnamese air transport industry.AESC is a certificated Part 145 repair station certificated by the European Aviation Safety Agency and the Federal Aviation Administration. “AESC started with maintaining aircraft wheels and brakes. Vietnam Air gets loan for aircraft engines purchase By Binh Nguyen - The Saigon Times Daily HCMC - PetroVietnam Finance Corp. (PVFC) and Cathay United Bank (CUB) have agreed to provide Vietnam Airlines with a loan of US$7.225 million to purchase back-up engines for its new Airbus 321 planes. PVFC said on its website that CUB would be the leader in the syndicated loan and the corporation acted as the arranger and mortgage asset manager of this credit with a term of seven years. The new loan will go to fuel-saving engines as part of Vietnam Airlines’ plan to invest in its modern fleet of Airbus A321 aircraft, in accordance with financing agreements signed by the involved sides in Hanoi on Monday. Pham Ngoc Minh, chief executive officer of Vietnam Airlines, told the signing ceremony that the national flagship would use the loan efficiently as well as would pay this credit with agreed interest rates as clarified in the agreements. The U.S.-based aviation giant Boeing Co. said Vietnam was an attractive place to develop manufacturing plants for aircraft parts, after announcing its potential business plans in Vietnam on August 25 in HCMC. The announcement was made in a news conference organized by Boeing. A day earlier, Boeing also attended a seminar on the development of Vietnam's aviation industry, co-hosted by the Vietnamese Ministry of Planning and Investment. Vietnam is an attractive place to develop manufacturing plants for aircraft parts, an executive from U.S.-based Boeing Co. said Tuesday. Following a conference in Hanoi that brought Boeing and its partners together with Vietnamese government officials, Boeing representatives said Vietnam represents an appealing environment to create assembly line manufacturing plants. Airbus hails WTO judgement “big win for Europe”
The European aircraft maker Airbus hailed on Wednesday the judgement by an appeal body of the World Trade Organization (WTO), saying it is "a big win for Europe" because it showed a favor to Airbus in disputes with U.S. rival Boeing over government subsidies for aircraft industry. Since October 2004, Boeing and Airbus have been involved in a row, accusing each other of having illegal state support to gain unfair advantages for export.
