India remains the largest outsourcing market for Japan with 31.5 percent of the market share. Meanwhile, Vietnam, which has ousted China from the second position, holds 20.6 percent. One of the reasons which explain why Japanese enterprises choose Vietnam as the outsourcing partner, according to Nikkei, is that the cost to hire Vietnamese IT engineers is 30-40 percent cheaper than Chinese engineers. Q1 revenue from software outsourcing grows strongly Ha Van By Ha Van - The Saigon Times Daily HCMC - Software outsourcing companies recorded high revenue growth in the first quarter of this year versus last year’s same period and expected to maintain this momentum in the coming months based on the contracts they have won for the entire year. Tran Phuc Hong, managing director of TMA Solutions, forecast the software outsourcing market would maintain stable growth towards the year-end as most of the contracts had been secured in the year to date. “TMA’s revenue rose by around 20% in the first quarter against last year’s same period. Software outsourcing firms ride out tough times By Hien Nguyen - The Saigon Times Daily HCMC – The software outsourcing sector is powering ahead again as many local firms reported better results last year than in 2008 and 2009 when the financial crisis struck the global economy. Pham Tan Cong, general secretary of the Vietnam Software Association, said 2010 saw the outsourcing sector recovery gaining steam with its traditional markets like Japan and North America improving. It was tough for Japan’s information technology industry in 2009, thus rattling the domestic software industry. Japan is a huge IT market with an annual turnover size of US$130 billion, said Cong.
