South Koreans in Vietnam celebrate Mid-Autumn Festival
According to the South Korean woman, songpyeon - made from rice powder and filled with red bean, mung bean, or black sesame paste - is a must-have dish at Chuseok (South Korean Mid-Autumn Festival). Chuseok is an occasion for South Koreans to celebrate their harvest and gather with family members. Local people often visit their deceased relatives’ graves and offer food to show their gratitude towards their ancestors. Agro-forestry-fisheries sector posts 22.5% rise in trade surplus
During the period, the total export-import turnover of agro-forestry-aquatic products hit 6.9 billion USD, down 7.5% year-on-year. Of which, nearly 38.5 billion USD was from exports . In September alone, the export revenue of agro-forestry-aquatic products reached 4.8 billion USD, down 2.7% monthly and up 22% annually. China, the US and Japan remained the top three export markets of Vietnam ese farming products. Deputy Director of the city’s Department of Information and Communications Tran Ngoc Thach said the prize was given to the representative of the municipal People’s Council on September 26. Vietnam’s tech startups secure $50 million in funding in Q3

Breaking down the funding landscape, the early-stage rounds played a dominant role, contributing almost 98 per cent of the total funding for the quarter, amounting to $49 million. However, seed-stage rounds experienced an 87 per cent drop to $1.1 million in the third quarter of 2023, compared with the second quarter of 2023, and a 92 per cent drop compared to the third quarter of 2022 amounting to $13.8 million. Key segments that garnered significant funding included fintech, life sciences, and enterprise applications. Meta’s Seasonal Holidays Study survey indicated that up to 71 per cent of Vietnamese shoppers shop early to get significant discounts and 65 per cent are driven to participate in mega sales by the low prices and discounts on offer, which demonstrates their caution and the importance of sales during the current economic uncertainty. 58 per cent of shoppers increased their spending during this year's Lunar New Year holiday, showing an increase in spending of approximately $30 (VND700,000) on-year.
