New securities accounts hit near two-year low in July
Hanoi - The number of newly-opened securities accounts dropped sharply in July to the lowest in about two years as stock market liquidity hit a monthly low. (Photo cafe.vn) Data from the Vietnam Securities Depository (VSD) showed domestic investors opened 199,128 new securities accounts last month, a decline of 57% over the previous month. This is the second time the number of new accounts opened in the country has dropped below 200,000 units. The last time was in February, which coincided with the Lunar New Year Holiday. Retail investors continued to be the market’s key contributor opening 198,988 new accounts, with 140 accounts from institutional investors. Refresher course on military history work opened for Lao officers
This is the eighth edition of the course opened by the Vietnamese institute since 2019. In his opening speech, Major General Nguyen Hoang Nhien, Director of the Vietnam Military History Institute, underlined the importance of the course, contributing to improving the efficiency of managing and researching military history and reviewing the war. According to General Nhien, among 25 Lao cadres, the freshly-employed ones will be equipped with basic knowledge of military history research methodology while the veteran ones will be provided with experience in military history research, and war summarization. Foreign language classes opened for border troops
The class consists of 95 border officers and soldiers as well as staffers of the Nam Can international border gate Customs Sub-Department under the Nghe An provincial Customs Department. During the four-month long course, the trainees will be instructed by troops of the Border Post of Nam Can International Border Gate. The course aims to improve proficiency, ability to use and communicate in the Lao language among troops stationed in the areas, contributing to safeguarding the national sovereignty and border security, building a strong whole people’s border guard posture, and promoting solidarity and friendship between the people on both sides of the shared borderline. Thailand aims for biggest tiger population in Southeast Asia by 2034

Da Nang to host golf tourism festival
