Hanoi has plans to treat 1,000 Covid-19 patients

The Hanoitimes - The Central Hospital for Tropical Diseases second branch can provide treatment for one thousand Covid-19 patients. Hanoi's government has plans to ensure treatment for up to one thousand Covid-19 patients, Zing.vn quoted Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee Nguyen Duc Chung as saying after talks with the director of the Central Hospital for Tropical Diseases. He assessed that the city will face an intense period until the beginning of April as there will be more passengers arriving in the city from abroad and a number of patients in the community are yet to be detected. Thus, Hanoi needs all resources to detect Covid-19 infections and control the concentrated isolation centers to prevent Covid-19 from spreading. The Hanoi mayor emphasized that if Hanoi can apply strict quarantine, early detection and test, as well as appropriate treatment, the city will win the battle against the pandemic. Currently, there are 14 mass isolation centers in Hanoi city with a total of 12,629 beds, according to a report of the municipal Department of Health. The local government has been asked to prepare quarantine space for 20,000 people. As of March 25, Hanoi has 50 active coronavirus-infected cases, the largest number in Vietnam. Vietnam logs no new COVID-19 infections on March 1 morning Vietnam documented zero COVID-19 infections in the past 12 hours as of 6:00 am on March 1, leaving the national tally unchanged at 2,448 patients, according to the National Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control. Earlier, Vietnam reported 16 COVID-19 cases at 6pm on February 28, including 12 locally infected cases in the northern province of Hai Duong, the country's largest COVID-19 hotspot, and four imported cases in the southern provinces of Tay Ninh and Dong Thap. Of the total infections, there were 1,542 domestically-transmitted cases, including 849 recorded since the latest outbreak hit the northern province of Hai Duong on January 27. Ten cities and provinces nationwide have gone through 16 consecutive days without any locally-infected cases of COVID-19, including Hoa Binh, Dien Bien, Ha Giang, Binh Duong, Hung Yen, Bac Giang, Gia Lai, Bac Ninh, Quang Ninh, and Ho Chi Minh City. Meanwhile, Hanoi has recorded 14 straight days of no coronavirus cases. A total 60,693 people who came in close contact with COVID-19 patients or arrived from pandemic-hit areas are under quarantine nationwide, including 560 at hospitals, 12,298 at other quarantine sites, and 47,835 at home. Among patients under treatment, 62 have tested negative for SARS-CoV-2 once, 53 twice, and 95 thrice. Report from the Treatment Sub-committee showed that Vietnam has seen 1,876 recoveries so far. In a bid to live safely with the pandemic, people should strictly follow the Ministry of Health’s 5K message: khau trang (facemask), khu khuan (disinfection), khoang cach (distance), khong tu tap (no gathering), and khai bao y te (health declaration)./. More than 18,000 new firms set up in first two months

More than 18,000 new businesses were established in the first two months of 2021 — Photo VNA More than 18,000 new businesses were established in the first two months of 2021, a year-on-year decline of 4 per cent, according to the Ministry of Planning and Investment. The number of employees registered by the newly-established enterprises rose 9.7 per cent to 173,000. The months saw an addition of VND720.4 trillion (US$32.24 billion) in total registered capital, up 12.4 per cent. The average level in registered capital per enterprise surged 46.4 per cent to reach VND18.5 billion in the period. About 11,030 enterprises resumed operations in the first two months, down 7.6 per cent while 33,611 others were dissolved, up 18.6 per cent. In February alone, as many as 8,038 new businesses were set up with a combined registered capital of nearly VND179.74 trillion. The number of new firms represented a year-on-year drop of 12.3 per cent while the amount of capital surged 85.6 per cent.
