(Photo: VNA) Khanh Hoa (VNS/VNA) - The lives of soldiers and islanders in Truong Sa island district in the south-central province of Khanh Hoa have changed a lot thanks to solar panels and wind turbines. Solar and wind power is used widely in islands belonging to Vietnam's Truong Sa (Spratly) Archipelago, said Colonel Le Dinh Hai, Deputy Head of Brigade 146 under Naval Region 4. Hai, who is also Chairman of the Truong Sa District People's Committee, said that the clean energy sources now could meet the daily needs of local residents for cooking, and powering TVs, radios and even electric fans at night. "Truong Sa is the first district in Vietnam lit up with clean energy," Hai said, adding that thanks to the stable energy source, activities on the island became much more convenient than before. Japan’s biggest power generator acquires 35 per cent of TTC Group’s subsidiary
Jero supplies electricity, gas, and heat, as well as conducts the development, mining, processing, trading, and transportation of energy resources. Dang Van Thanh, chairman of TTC Group, has confirmed that Jera had bought a 35.09 per cent stake in Gia Lai Electricity JSC, a listed entity under TTC Group. Jera paid an unknown sum to International Finance Corporation (under the World Bank Group) and Armstrong Asset Management of Singapore for the majority ownership in Gia Lai Electricity, making it the biggest foreign shareholder in the firm, cited Bloomberg . Accordingly, TTC Group and its subsidiary Gia Lai Electricity plan to invest $1 billion to further boost its renewables capacity to more than 2,000 MWG. Held in Singapore, and in Batam and the waters off Bintan in Indonesia, this year's Joint Minex Pandu exercise included joint mine-countermeasure operations, diving, live gunnery firing, professional exchange on mine clearance diving techniques, and table-top planning exercises. Army Games 2022: Vietnamese Special Breakthrough contingent ready for the competition
The Vietnamese contingent consists of 12 members who are cadets at Zhukovsky Air Force Academy in Voronezh city, Russia. According to the head of the contingent, Staff Sergeant Bui Trong Tien, ten contingents from Vietnam, Russia, Belarus, Cambodia, Abkhazia, Armenia, Mali, Mongolia, Congo, Zimbabwe, and Tajikistan will compete in this year’s special Breakthrough event. Having received instructions on the event’s contents by the organizing panel, participating contingents started practice. The Vietnamese contingent has so far practiced the contents five times. With their high determination and competence, all members of the Vietnamese contingent are now ready for the competition.
