During an interview granted to correspondents of the Vietnam News Agency, the diplomat also shared his country’s experience in undertaking the role as the non-permanent member of the UNSC, and pointed to challenges that will face Vietnam in the work. Three finalists representing northern Vietnam to compete in the final of a cooking contest searching for the best 'pho'chefs in Vietnam were decided at a qualification round held in Hanoi on Saturday morning. The contest is one of the lead-ups to the 2019 Day of Pho, the third edition of an annual Tuoi Tre-backed program to honor the world-renowned food. Phois a Vietnamese soup consisting of broth, rice noodles, fresh herbs and meat, either beef or chicken. The phocooking competition was open to both local and foreign chefs who currently work at eateries, restaurants or hotels across the country, as well as non-professional cooks, with registration closed on October 31. The Hanoi qualifier was contested by 15 candidates from 9:00 am to 10:30 am on Saturday. The average working day for bank worker Pham Hong Nhung in Hanoi normally starts at 7am and ends at around 8pm. Moved by the woman and the child’s plight, Bui Cong Hiep and his wife stepped in to take care of it. Ten years on, Hiep has, believe it or not, 90 children, two of whom are his biological offspring. But Hiep is not just a rich businessman donating money for their upkeep in an orphanage or similar institution for abandoned children. He personally takes care of them, getting up at 4.30 a.m. everyday to attend to their needs. Hiep, 62, takes 3 hours to prepare lunch and another 3 hours to make dinner. "I want to cook for my kids because I know the feeling when my Mom cooked for me, I want my kids to feel the same."
