The 13th Francophone Film Festival will take place in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City from March 18-24       (Photo :VNA Hanoi (VNA) - Vietnamese film lovers will have a chance to enjoy outstanding cinema works from the Francophone community at the 13th Francophone Film Festival which is set to run in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City from March 18 to 24. As part of cultural activities on the occasion of International Francophone Day, the festival will present seven films from nine countries including Vietnam, Switzerland, France , Canada, Tunisia and Belgium-Wallonie-Bruxelles. The 35th Ho Chi Minh Television Cycling Tournament, or the HTV Cup, will kick off in early April, featuring 25 stages and covering 2,964 kilometers, according to a press briefing to introduce the cycle race on Monday. This year’s edition, titled 'Land, Rivers, and Mountains Create a Strip – Hope for Victory' is one of Vietnam’s largest cycling tourneys. The race is set to bring together the country’s strongest teams, including Ho Chi Minh-Vinama, Loc Troi Group, Dong Thap Domesco Pharmaceuticals, Military Zone 7, Hanoi, Kenda Dong Nai, and Binh Minh Binh Duong Plastics. The race will start at Hoan Kiem Lake in Hanoi on April 2, stretch to the Mekong Delta province of An Giang, and finish in Ho Chi Minh City on April 30. The highlight is an experimental play on money and love adapted from Honoré de Balzac’s novel Eugénie Grandet. The Vietnamese play adapted from Eugénie Grandet was written by female director Viet Linh, who is talented and well-known in both theatre and movies. Linh worked with her younger colleague, theatre director Tay Phong on the play script.
