(Photo: VNA) Bac Giang (VNA) – A thematic exhibition on "The sacred Buddhist land of Tay Yen Tu - A thousand-year-old relic from the ground" was opened on February 1 in the northern province of Bac Giang with nearly 500 Buddhist artifacts and images being displayed. The exhibition is part of the province’s Culture-Tourism Week launched from February 1-6, featuring 15 cultural, sport, and tourism activities. Visitors to the exhibition can see artifacts and images of pagodas and towers built from the Ly – Tran Dynasties (11th-14th century), the Le Trung Hung Dynasty (the 17th-18th century) and the Nguyen Dynasty (19th century) as well as images about the process of archaeological excavation at relics, vestiges of ancient religious works associated with Truc Lam Zen Buddhist sect in Tay Yen Tu. Bac Giang opens Tay Yen Tu Spring Festival, Culture – Tourism Week
Addressing the event, Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Mai Son said the Tay Yen Tu tourism complex, located on the path of propagating the Dharma of the founders of the Truc Lam Yen Tu Buddhist sect, holds a special position for developing cultural, spiritual, ecological, and relaxation tourism. Buddhist artifacts make nationwide tour
The Lieu Quan Buddhist Cultural Center in Hue City Hundreds of monks, nuns and Buddhists as well as pilgrims have travelled to the Dieu Quang Pagoda in the central province of Khanh Hoa 's Nha Trang City to view 38 Buddhist sarira on display. Said to be the crystallised remains from the cremated Buddha's physical body, Buddha sarina were placed in small glass-towers for worshipping. FDI to Vietnam’s real estate rises by over 70% in 2022
Vietnam's real estate market continues to show strong appeal to foreign investors despite global economic difficulties. The foreign direct investment (FDI) into Vietnam’s real estate market in 2022 rose by over 70% yearly to US$4.45 billion, focusing on industrial and large-scale commercial projects, according to the Ministry of Construction (MoC). Construction work starts on Haiphong – Quang Ninh bridge
Authorities in the northern city of Haiphong today, February 2, started construction of the Lai Xuan Bridge crossing the Da Bach River that connects the city's Thuy Nguyen District with Dong Trieu Town in Quang Ninh Province. Construction of the Lai Xuan Bridge crossing the Da Bach River starts in Haiphong City on February 2 The 840-metre-long, 12-metre-wide bridge project will be carried out at the same time as the expansion of Provincial Road 352 to 12 metres in width and 14 kilometres in length. The two projects are estimated to cost over VND 1.32 trillion. The investment will be taken from the local government budgets with over VND1.32 trillion from Haiphong and over VND12 billion from Quang Ninh. Gas cylinder explodes on ship in Quang Ninh, injuring eight
A sudden gas cylinder explosion occurred on a ship which was being repaired in the northern province of Quang Ninh, injuring eight workers. The incident occurred at around 8:45 am this morning when the vessel Oriental Glory was being repaired at Nosco Shipyard. The ship belongs to the Hanoi-based Phuong Dong Shipping and Trading JS Company. The ship where the incident happened The gas cylinder explosion affected eight workers from Nosco ShipYard aged between 34 and 47. Right after the incident Cao Tuong Huy, the Managing Chairman of the Quang Ninh People’s Committee instructed local concerned agencies to investigate the cause of the explosion. The decision by a three-judge panel of the 5th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals is the latest victory for gun rights advocates since a Supreme Court ruling last June granting a broad right for people to carry firearms outside the home. That ruling, New York State Rifle & Pistol Association v. Bruen, announced a new test for assessing firearms laws, saying restrictions must be "consistent with this nation's historical tradition of firearm regulation," and not simply advance an important government interest. In Thursday's decision, Circuit Judge Cory Wilson said banning people under domestic violence restraining orders from owning firearms "embodies salutary policy goals meant to protect vulnerable people in our society." But the judge, appointed by Donald Trump, said the Bruen ruling made such a consideration irrelevant, and that from a historical perspective the ban was "an outlier that our ancestors would never have accepted."
