The International Council on Monuments and Sites (ICOMOS) will assist Vietnam in reviewing the profile and making changes if necessary. The relic complex covers three northern provinces of Quang Ninh, Hai Duong, and Bac Giang. It is an irreplaceable link in the network of Truc Lam Buddhism, which took root in Vietnam in the 13th century and became the national religion. Hanoi still tops FDI destinations during nine months

(Photo: VNA) Hanoi (VNA) – Hanoi recorded nearly 2.53 billion USD in foreign direct investment (FDI) registered during the first nine months of 2023, maintaining its top position in FDI attraction in Vietnam, said the Foreign Investment Agency (FIA) under the Ministry of Planning and Investment. The FDI in Hanoi accounted for nearly 12.5% of the registered sum nationwide and increased 2.46-fold year on year. During the period, foreign investors poured money into 54 of the 63 provinces and centrally-run cities. The northern city of Hai Phong came second with nearly 2.21 billion USD, equivalent to 10.9% of the total and up 82.4% from a year earlier. Vietnam’s 2023 GDP growth target of 6 percent challenging
The target of a gross domestic product (GDP) growth rate of six percent this year is a big challenge to Vietnam as the country needs to achieve an economic expansion of 10.4 percent in the last quarter of the year. The International Monetary Fund has recently forecast Vietnam’s GDP growth for this year at 4.7 percent. Meanwhile, at a Cabinet meeting chaired by Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh on Saturday, the government chose six percent as the best-case scenario. The target is tough although it is lower than the 6.3 percent set early this year. The Southeast Asian nation’s GDP expanded 4.24 percent in the January-September period, according to the General Statistics Office. The agro-forestry-fishery, industry and construction, and service sectors grew 3.43, 2.41, and 6.32 percent, contributing 9.16, 22.27, and 68.57 percent to the GDP growth, respectively.
