The new template passports aim to prevent the creation of fake passports. The Ministry of Public Security (MPS) started issuing new template passports for Vietnamese citizens today [July 1], according to the Immigration Department of Vietnam. The move is aimed at implementing Circular 73/2021/TT-BCA of the MPS on passport specimens. Each page of the new passport will be printed with renowned Vietnamese scenery and cultural heritage, namely Ha Long Bay, Hung King Temple, Hue Imperial Citadel, Hoi An Ancient Town, My Son Sanctuary, Nha Rong Habour, Lung Cu Flag Tower, and among others. Children from across Ho Chi Minh City have spent their first few weeks of summer visiting the children’s section of the General Sciences Library, located in downtown District 1, to read in a comfortable environment and participate in a variety of clubs and activities. Nguyen Ngoc Lan, a fifth grader from District 3, has spent nearly the entire week at the library eagerly reading books and participating in the dozens of activities hosted by staff and guests there, including storytelling sessions and advice on choosing new books to read. The competition, part of the Taste of Australia event, was organised by the Australian Trade and Investment Commission (Austrade) and supported by Vietnam’s Graduates from Australia Club (VGAC).
