Vietnam issues new template passports for citizens from July 1
The new template passports aim to prevent the creation of fake passports. The Ministry of Public Security (MPS) started issuing new template passports for Vietnamese citizens today [July 1], according to the Immigration Department of Vietnam. The move is aimed at implementing Circular 73/2021/TT-BCA of the MPS on passport specimens. Each page of the new passport will be printed with renowned Vietnamese scenery and cultural heritage, namely Ha Long Bay, Hung King Temple, Hue Imperial Citadel, Hoi An Ancient Town, My Son Sanctuary, Nha Rong Habour, Lung Cu Flag Tower, and among others. Top legislator arrives in Hanoi, concluding visits to Hungary, U.K.

Speaking at a working session with the Standing Board of the provincial Party Committee as part of his trip to Ben Tre, President Phuc lauded the province’s efforts in economic development, with its gross regional domestic product (GRDP) up 4.18 percent in the first half of this year. A summer of fun and learning for Ho Chi Minh City children
Children from across Ho Chi Minh City have spent their first few weeks of summer visiting the children’s section of the General Sciences Library, located in downtown District 1, to read in a comfortable environment and participate in a variety of clubs and activities. Nguyen Ngoc Lan, a fifth grader from District 3, has spent nearly the entire week at the library eagerly reading books and participating in the dozens of activities hosted by staff and guests there, including storytelling sessions and advice on choosing new books to read. New books, new activities Lan did not have much love for reading when her mother first brought her to the library, but the time the young girl has spent making new friends and enjoying the library’s activities has turned her into a true bookworm with a particular interest in outer space and comics. The competition, part of the Taste of Australia event, was organised by the Australian Trade and Investment Commission (Austrade) and supported by Vietnam’s Graduates from Australia Club (VGAC). It had two rounds – an online one held from May 12-June 4; and a final round held on June 25 in Ho Chi Minh City. All contestants registered for the online round submitted video clips with two cups with two different patterns from four subjects - Heart, Tulip, Rosetta and Swan.
