PANO – The Vietnam Fine Arts Museum (66 Nguyen Thai Hoc Street, Hanoi) on the evening of October 19th opened an exhibition themed "Vietnam’s Art of Painting: A new look. The five-day exhibition introduces over 50 paintings selected from more than 200 works, which were collected by Nguyen Minh, covering topics from wartime through the transitional time to the domoi (renewal) period. The works relive the heroic and unforgettable moments of the resistance wars of the people and army of Vietnam, as well as simple images of everyday life during these times. Opening the exhibition, Tran Khanh Luong, Chairman of the Vietnam Fine Arts Association, stressed, "The works on display bring us back to the past of the fine arts of Vietnam, showing the hard but heroic and unforgettable time of the nation." Ho Con Rua gets new look Vu Yen By Vu Yen - The Saigon Times Daily 7Up brand of Suntory PepsiCo Vietnam has marked the completion of a project to rehabilitate Ho Con Rua or Quoc Te Square in HCMC’s District 1. This was the latest and final project in a campaign called “7Up To Diem Viet Nam” (7Up beautifies Vietnam) to bring youthful and active looks to some public landmarks in Vietnam. The pond of Ho Con Rua was cleaned up and repainted to bring a fresh look to the whole place. 7Up also installed concrete benches at the place. The whole area is equipped with a LED lighting system. Ho Con Rua, officially known as Quoc Te (international) Square, is a popular name of a roundabout with a fountain where Vo Van Tan, Pham Ngoc Thach and Tran Cao Van streets meet in HCMC’s District 1. New-look Trang Tien Plaza opens for business Phuong Thao By Phuong Thao - The Saigon Times Daily HCMC – Trang Tien Plaza, one of the most modern shopping centers in Hanoi City, officially re-opened last Saturday after several years of renovation. Located in the heart of the capital city, the center has spent over US$20 million in the facelift, featuring 112 luxury brand names in high-end fashion, watches and perfume such as Christian Dior, Cartier, Burberry and Louis Vuitton. Up to 95% of retail space in this project is occupied. Trang Tien Plaza is also a venue for culinary culture of Vietnam and other countries such as Singapore, Italy and Korea. Having grown up hearing stories about Vietnam by his father who was a doctor of American naval forces stationed in Vietnam, Peter Steinhauer has a deep love for the cultural features of the country. After 9 years of working in Vietnam, Peter Steinhauer is preparing to open of the biggest exhibition on Vietnam-US relations on July 12, in Ha Noi, under the theme of " Vietnam - a decade through images". Peter Steinhauer's father was in Da Nang in 1966 and 1967. When he returned to his family, he brought to the family vivid and beautiful images of Hoi An, My Son, and the Vietnamese people. The memories urged the former serviceman to return to Vietnam in 1988 and begin his trans - Vietnam travels. New-look Trung Nguyen Coffee franchise opens in Singapore
A Trung Nguyen Coffee shop has opened in Singapore ’s Changi Airport early September, becoming the first franchise under Trung Nguyen’s new image with distinctly Vietnamese appearance . The Thanh Nien (Young People) Online cited a company executive as saying the 150 square-metre shop would showcase Vietnam ’s coffee-drinking culture that is centered on a personal filter and its robusta coffee. Vietnam is famed for its robusta coffee of which it is the world’s largest exporter. In the past Trung Nguyen franchised seven outlets abroad but using its old image. The company has planned to franchise three more shops under the new image, along with setting up a franchising and managing office in Singapore between now and the end of this year. The establishment of the office in Singapore is one of Trung Nguyen’s strategic preparatory steps in its roadmap to expand its outlets on the world market, the executive said.
