(Photo: VNA) Hanoi (VNA) – The Government bond market of Vietnam officially became operational at the Hanoi Stock Exchange (HNX) on September 24, 2009. Since then, about 2.47 quadrillion VND (108.5 billion USD) has been raised for the State budget from the primary market to support socio-economic development in the country. More than 206 trillion VND worth of G-bonds has been raised for the State budget annually, accounting for almost 10 percent of total investment in society in 2020 and 28.3 percent of that by the State sector last year. New antibody therapies fight cancer, drum up investment
Antibody therapies are offering promising treatment breakthroughs for cancer and other illnesses, generating greater investor interest more than 20 years after they were first commercialised. Antibodies are proteins that recognise foreign substances, known as antigens, attaching themselves to them to alert the rest of the human immune system. In 1975, scientists Georges Koehler and Cesar Milstein discovered how to produce them in a laboratory, which later earned them a Nobel Prize for medicine. Dozens of synthetic antibodies have since been developed. New antibody treatments to be used with chemotherapy have arrived on the scene in recent years. New foreign direct investment (FDI) volume reached $755.7 million, equal to 56.2 per cent on-year. Up to now, the city’s IZs and EZs attracted 438 foreign-invested projects valued at $22.07 billion in total capital and 195 local ones worth $12.57 billion. New Mien Dong (Eastern) Coach Station remains deserted
The old Mien Dong (Eastern) Coach Station is more crowded than the new coach station. Currently, the coach station is serving routes from Quang Tri Province to the Northern localities with a distance of over 1,000 kilometers facing high competition with airplanes. According to the Municipal Department of Transport, the connectivity infrastructure is the core motivation to serve passengers at the station. Currently, some projects are implemented and expected to soon be completed in one to two years surrounding the new Eastern Coach Station. Specifically, the Metro Line No.1 is expected to be completed by end of 2023; the investors are pushing up the implementation of the Ha Noi Highway expansion project, Eastern Bus Station overpass, streets of Hoang Huu Nam, A8 being facing difficulties due to site clearance process. Our colleagues have a say about what they have done throughout the production process and throughout retailing, and also about consumption. We can reduce the use of single-use plastic bags, we can reduce plastic packaging, and we can remove plastic straws from each product. Ngài Kẹo (Mr Candy), the debut novel of 15-year-old author Quỳnh Trần, is the story of a young girl's perilous and hesitant voyage. It begins with the opening of the largest candy store in town, named "Candy shop - Best N Town" by Mr Candy, who sells candies for five cents each. Children begin disappearing a week after Mr Candy moves in, and strange occurrences ensue. Vietnam, Hungary to sign new parliamentary cooperation agreement
Hungary was the first European Union state to approve the EU-Vietnam Investment Protection Agreement (EVIPA). Vietnam and Hungary are expected to sign an agreement on cooperation between the two parliaments in replacement of the one inked in 2008. Closing event of Rethinking Plastics heralds new age of combatting plastic pollution
At the event, participants concluded the implementation of Rethinking Plastics’ four pilot projects in sustainable consumption and production of plastics, plastic waste management on land and sea, as well as awareness-raising activities. The event also aimed at enhancing the policy dialogue between the EU and Vietnam on plastic pollution, the transition to a circular economy, and publicly closed the activities of the Rethinking Plastics project in the country.
