New Zealand and Vietnam offering trade solutions

June 1, 2023 by vir.com.vn

Vangelis Vitalis - New Zealand’s Deputy Secretary of Foreign Affairs and Trade What was achieved at the eighth meeting of the Vietnam-New Zealand Economic and Trade Committee? Vietnamese Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Phan Thi Thang and I focused on practical things that will benefit our businesses, and also benefit New Zealanders and Vietnamese on both sides, because of the way in which we can support trade flows. We discussed some of the customs procedures on both sides that would make it easier for our companies to export to one another. We also discussed the need to have electronic certification and to set up a process by which we could audit each other’s horticulture sectors, which our two leaders say are essential. For example, when they agreed on the export of Vietnamese limes and pomelo to New Zealand, we were able to send squash and strawberries to Vietnam. Besides that, we agreed to increase work together to find ways to facilitate more of this kind of … [Read more...] about New Zealand and Vietnam offering trade solutions

Coal still with part to play in energy mix

May 31, 2023 by vir.com.vn

The clearance of 200-300 coal wagons per day via the La Lay border gate in the central province of Quang Tri is being deemed impractical, affecting Logistics PTS Vietnam’s future aim of importing five million metric tonnes of coal annually. “Transportation and warehouse infrastructure is scarce, and so we can only remove about 100 vehicles per day,” said PTS general director Nguyen Quang Huy. According to him, if Vietnam fails to strengthen infrastructure, improve National Highway 15D, and invest in warehouses, it will miss the chance to compete with Thailand in purchasing coal from Laos. In February, Laos’ energy ministry announced findings of coal field surveys in the provinces of Sekong and Saravane, indicating that reserves may be as high as 500 million MT. The company has invested in research and development to create a set of products that appeal to the country's culinary traditions and standards, as part of Chin-su's goal to bring Vietnamese cuisine to the world. VNG embraces technology to lead the gaming industry

June 1, 2023 by vir.com.vn

Now that technology is booming, what are the challenges and growth opportunities facing the gaming industry in general and VNG in particular? VNG has been in the gaming industry for 19 years, and has witnessed many changes over that time. Giap Le Trong, head of the Game Publishing Platform at VNG Corporation In my opinion, the greatest challenge for the industry is how to understand the gaming culture of Vietnamese people as it has changed many times. Previously, it focused on products like PC games, but now it's all about mobile devices. The current development of mobile games makes user behaviour much more different compared to before. In the wake of this, VNG has been active in terms of technology transformation to meet our changing goals. In our vision, we aim to focus on bringing tech products to the world's playground, in which games form the spearhead. How will VNG overcome the obstacles and maintain its position as the leader in the local game … [Read more...] about VNG embraces technology to lead the gaming industry
