VFF General Secretary Le Hoai Anh announced the news in a football briefing on August 8 in Hanoi. Chung's current deal with the national women's football team will expire on December 31. Under the new one, he will take charge of the team until December 31, 2023. His main duty is to lead Vietnam at the 2023 Women's World Cup finals in Australia and New Zealand next August. Vietnam to face Singapore, India in September friendly football tournament

The tournament will be held at the Thong Nhat stadium in Ho Chi Minh City from September 21 to 27. The three teams are set to compete in a round-robin format. Vietnam to play India at friendly football tournament
The team is set to gather for training on September 17. On the 21st, they will play Singapore and six days later, India. The match between India and Singapore will take place on September 24. The top ranked national player will take part in the event for the 13th time since his debut in 2005, one more than the current record held by Chinese legend Lin Dan. Malaysian prodigy Lee Chong Wei took part in 11 championships. Lin, who won five trophies, and Lee, who entered four final matches, retired in 2019 and 2020, respectively.
