The National Bicycle and Motorbike Championships concluded in Vung Tau City, Ba Ria-Vung Tau province, on October 22 after six days of fierce competition. Bicyclists and motorbike riders for the Vietnam team competing at the 26th SEA Games will be selected from this event, which was organized by the Vietnam Bicycle and Motorbike Federation and the Ba Ria-Vung Tau provincial Department of Culture, Sports, and Tourism. Most of the tournament's top individual and team medals went to the traditionally strong teams including An Giang, Vinh Long, Dong Thap, Binh Duong, Can Tho, and Ho Chi Minh City. The athletes competed in a range of events such as the women's 80km individual and team races, the men's 164km individual and team events, the women's 30km and men's 50km races, and the men's and women's 500m speed events. The eclectic cyclist started the Electric Bicycle World Tour in June 2009 in Beijing in support of a future with less reliance on traditional combustion engines, better energy conservation and waste reduction. The tour is scheduled to end in August 2012 in Vietnam. Teruel’s electric bicycle, a Wisper 905 se World Tourer, has three 12 volt/20 watt solar panels wired in a series to recharge batteries. On July 17th morning, at Quang Trung Commune's House Of Culture, Thong Nhat District, the provincial Police held the kick-off ceremony to mobilize people from all walks of life to defend the national security. The Vietnamese Record Book has acknowledged national records celebrating the 1,000th anniversary of Thang Long -Hanoi. Bat Trang ceramic and pottery village's artisan Nguyen Van Binh and his assistants made a biggest pair of pottery dragons which are copied from a pair of the Ly dynasty. Each dragon is 30m long, 15.6m wide and 8.2m high, holding a gemstone ball of 57kg. Around 6,000 enamel plates and 4,000 enamel cups baked meticulously have been used to make the dragons' body. The largest wood-engraved piece of "Chieu Doi Do" ("Edict on the Transfer of the Capital" written by King Ly Cong Uan on the move of Vietnam's capital from Hoa Lu to Dai La - Hanoi at present) was made of valuable wood and gold. The royal proclamation is 4.58m long, 3.85 m high and weighs five tons. A pair of 10 meter-long Ao dai was embroidered with 1,000 phoenixes and 1,000 dragons.
