Minister Le Minh Hoan reported that the sector has shown strong determination, made great efforts, carried out flexible and creative solutions, and reformed its mindset to overcome difficulties and challenges to achieve targets. In 2022, the sector’s total value grew by 3.36%, the highest in many years. In particular, agriculture expanded by 2.88%, fisheries 4.43%, and forestry 6.13%. The forest coverage stood at over 42% while the rate of new-style rural areas more than 73%. Agro-forestry-fishery exports reached 53.22 billion USD, up 9.3% from a year earlier. Hanoi sees strong recovery in serviced apartment market in Q4/2022

(Photo baoxaydung) Hanoi (VNS/VNA) – Hanoi ’s real estate market in the fourth quarter of 2022 saw a better performance in the serviced apartment segment than in apartments sales, according to the Savills’ report on the Hanoi property market released on January 10. On the serviced apartment market, occupancy of 81% rose by four percentage points quarter on quarter and 12 percentage points year on year. That has nearly reached the pre-COVID (or the quarter of 2019) figure at 82%. Rent of 575,000 VND per sq.m per month increased by 1% quarter on quarter and 6% year on year. Grade A charged the most at 735,000 VND per sq.m per month. According to the report, Hanoi had no new supply of serviced apartments in the fourth quarter of 2022, while the stock of 5,935 units from 63 projects was stable quarter on quarter but increased by 4% year on year. FTAs a silver lining for economic growth

The country's trade surpassed the milestone of $700 billion in value to hit $73.5 billion in 2022, a rise of 9.5 per cent against the same period of the previous year, according to the updates of the General Statistics Office. Of the figure, exports rose by 10.6 per cent, while imports by 8.4 per cent. With a trade surplus of nearly $11 billion this year, Viet Nam registered a trade surplus for seven years in a row which contributed significantly to the balance of payments, improving foreign exchange reserves, stabilising exchange rates and other macroeconomic indicators, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Tran Quoc Khanh said. At least 67 killed in Nepal plane crash
At least 67 people were confirmed dead Sunday after a plane with 72 on board crashed in Nepal, police said, in the Himalayan country's worst aviation disaster in three decades.
