Eight new domestic Covid-19 cases recorded in Hai Duong

All the five cases in Hai Duong are those who had already been put into centralized quarantine zones before being confirmed infected with the coronavirus. They are being treated at the northern province's field hospitals. The five imported cases are those entering Vietnam through Ha Tien international border gate in the Mekong Delta province of Kien Giang last Thursday and Friday, and were quarantined upon arrival. Sunday test results confirmed they were postivive for the virus. Vietnam declared 16 patients free of Covid-19 on Monday, bringing the number of active cases down to 530. The country has recorded 857 community transmissions in 13 localities since the third wave began on January 28 after a 55-day clean streak. Hai Duong remains the biggest hotspot with 673 cases, followed by Quang Ninh (61) and HCMC (36). Ten of the 13 localities haven’t recorded any new community transmissions in the past 15 days. With the latest cases, the nation’s Covid-19 tally has increased to 2,461 with 1,892 recoveries. …

Hanoi people advised to stay at home to avoid corona infection

The Hanoitimes - Hanoi is entering a more intense phase of the fight against the coronavirus and it challenges the city's efforts if secondary transmission is not well managed. Chairman Nguyen Duc Chung of the Hanoi People’s Committee has repeated the call on local residents to stay at home “as much as possible” to avoid contagion of the new coronavirus which is sweeping every part of the world. Photo: Thanh Nien Locals should stay limit outdoor activities from now until April 5, and when out people need to wear facial masks, practice social distancing of at least two meters, and move in one way direction at supermarkets, the mayor said at a meeting late on March 23. The reason is that Hanoi is at high risk of pandemic contagion in the next two weeks that is the incubation period (the time between exposure to the virus and the appearance of the first symptoms). Vietnam has applied mandatory 14-day quarantine to all people, both Vietnamese and foreigners, coming from overseas since March 21. Before that, only people who came from or travelled across epidemic-hit areas, were infected with the virus or those in close contact with the infected were required to undergo quarantine, implying potential risks of transmission in the community. The Ministry of Health has called on passengers of 21 flights carrying virus-infected people to contact health authorities for free tests and further instructions. “This time is very important for the city to prevent secondary transmission or face multiple inflections if we failed to contain the virus,” Chung stressed. The exhibition features over 20 works by final-year students from RMIT University’s Bachelor of Design Studies program. “AĂ ” by Truong Thanh An, Kee Zi Sing and Tran Bich Tuyet Nhi aims to help people recognize the hidden identity of Saigon through an interactive public event With the mutual aim of connecting the city and its people, the ideas presented range from community video and photography projects to public art work displays, motorbike parades, bicycling tours and other novel ideas. “Saigon Slumber Party” by Le Cao My Phuong is a free-entry fashion event that invites people to share their self identity in their most comfortable outfit Prior to coming up with this project, RMIT lecturers found that technological and media innovations over the past 20 years have left museums around the world questioning traditional models of artifact collection, conservation, exhibition and publication. Thus, museums are turning to their immediate surroundings to ask how they can renew their local ties and refresh their community bonds.
