The cold front would reach the eastern parts of northern Vietnam on Saturday morning, before enveloping other regions of the north, according to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting. Strong winds and rough seas should be expected. From Friday evening to the end of Saturday, northern Vietnam regions would see rains. 2 dead after car falls from bridge in Vietnam’s Central Highlands
Two people, including a four-year-old girl, died after a car plunged off a bridge in Bao Loc City, Lam Dong Province in Vietnam’s Central Highlands region on Thursday. The fatal traffic accident happened at a bypass of National Highway 20 at around 11:00 am. The vehicle involved in the incident was a Ford Everest with plate number 49A-063.64 driven by 54-year-old D.T.V., a resident of Di Linh District, and a four-year-old girl, who is only known as Nh. Durian prices sharply fall
Southern durian prices have sharply halved compared to last month. Durian farmers in Tien Giang Province Many farmers in Tien Giang, Long An, Binh Phuoc, and Dong Nai have seen the prices plummet to between VND75,000-85,000 per kilo, down by 15-20 percent compared to last week and by 50 percent against last month's prices. British traveler injured after falling off cliff in northern Vietnam
While climbing a high rock cliff, widely known as the ‘death cliff,’ in Vietnam’s northern mountainous province of Ha Giang to take photos last week, a British tourist slipped, fell about two meters off the cliff, and had his left leg injured. Authorities of Meo Vac District in Ha Giang Province, where the cliff is located, on Sunday night confirmed the incident, saying that it happed last Friday afternoon in Pai Lung Commune. Dengue fever hits before rains this year
Vietnam has recorded around 13,000 cases of dengue fever so far this year, about 2.3 times higher than the same period in 2022, according to the Ministry of Health. The rising numbers of cases have been recorded in mainly in central and southern localities, the General Department of Preventive Medicine reported. However, Hanoi has also not been spared. The capital’s Center for Disease Control (CDC) has recorded 172 dengue fever cases in 23 of 30 districts, a 20-fold increase from the same period last year. The health ministry said abnormal weather conditions have contributed to the rise in the number of cases. Normally dengue does not hit in such numbers until the rainy season. 30 Indonesians fall victim to Malaysia human trafficking ring in Vietnam
The police in Ho Chi Minh City have busted a human trafficking ring involving Malaysian nationals that allegedly deceived 30 Indonesians for property appropriation in Vietnam.
