Hanoi (VNA) – The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD) held a meeting with businesses in Hanoi on September 14 to promote the import of agricultural products from the US. MARD Deputy Minister Le Quoc Doanh said that amid COVID-19 outbreaks, Vietnamese businesses are exerting every effort to raise the import turnover from the US. The US is currently one of Vietnam’s biggest trade partners, with two-way trade of farm produce enjoying average annual growth rate of around 30 percent. In the first seven months of 2020, the two countries’ import-export turnover of agro-forestry-fishery products reached 7.53 billion USD, a year-on-year rise of 9 percent. The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism in co-ordination with the Quang Nam provincial People's Committee and the Private Economic Development Research Board launched the National Tourism Conference 2020 on November 28 with the theme of "Linking, Action and Development".
