The second summit between U.S. President Donald Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un is slated to take place on February 27 and 28, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Thousands of journalists are expected to attend the event in Vietnam. The PEACE package costs VND500,000. Mobifone provides Internet service By Huu Thang - The Saigon Times Daily HCMC - Mobifone has become the first network provider in Vietnam to provide Internet access for its subscribers by launching the new Fast Connect service last Thursday. "The service will help Mobifone customers connect to the Internet and send SMS messages by Mobile Broadband computers covered in the Mobifone network," said Dinh Viet Hung, director of Mobifone's Charge and Marketing Department at the introduction ceremony in HCMC. Although Fast Connect cannot replace ADSL service in terms of speed, the service will be useful as the Mobifone network covers 98% of localities nationwide, Hung added. The enterprise has plans to introduce different packages of Fast Connect, including prepaid, to meet client demand. But with the 3G service she uses it took her more than an hour to do that, she lamented. Thanh Ly of District 9, HCMC, told Thanh Nien she has been using Viettel's 3G services for three years, but for the last few months mostly to read news online since the connection has become slow. N.Q.T, who buys MobiFone's Max30 3G package, complained that the connection speed has been slow on-and-off recently. He complained to the company and the quality has since improved, he said. That is the message from a trio expos Vietnam International Communications Summit & Expo 2011 (Vietnam Comm 2011), Vietnam International Internet & IT Exhibition 2011 (Vietnam Internet & IT 2011) and International Exhibition on Electronics Products in Vietnam 2011 (Vietnam Electronics 2011) which open on November 16. Typically, VNPT Group’s VinaPhone and MobiFone have gained successes through providing 3G services. Bui Quoc Viet, director of VNPT Group’s information centre, said the two mobile operator affiliates had signed an increased number of 3G subscribers.
