Canada’s Minister of International Development and La Francophonie visits Vietnam
(VOVworld) – Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh received on Monday Canada’s Minister of International Development and La Francophonie Marie-Claude Bibeau, who is on a visit to Vietnam from Sunday to Wednesday. Minister Bibeau hailed Vietnam’s important role in the region and said Canada hopes boost bilateral ties with Vietnam in politics, diplomacy, trade-investment, education-science, and to increase development aids for Vietnam. "A Vietnam of construction, cooperation and responsibility in the international community" will be the message that Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung will bring to the annual 62nd session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York from September 25-28. Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung, together with 115 heads of States and representatives of other UN member countries will discus and put forth solutions to deal with issues concerning the international community such as crisis, conflicts, weapons proliferation, anti-terrorism, environmental pollution and climate change. Assessment of international cooperation in the field of environment
In the morning of April 17th, Vietnam Environment Administration held the meeting on reviewing international cooperation in the field of environment in 2008-2012 period. At the meeting, Mr. Nguyen Minh Cuong, Deputy Director of International Cooperation and Science - Technology reported the summary of international cooperation activities, existing difficulties and recommendations in order to implement international cooperation more effectively in the next time. According to the report, in the period 2008-2012, Vietnam Environment Administration was assigned to manage 20 international projects (including 02 ODA projects, 01 nogovernmental project and 17 non-refundable ODA projects).
