Deputy Chairman of HCMC People’s Committee Ngo Minh Chau lauded the groups of police, stressing that the success in destroying the cross-country massive drug trafficking ring also manifests police forces to closely work together to handle drug trafficking and crack down drug criminals. As Sai Gon Giai Phong Newspaper published police has unearthed a drug trafficking ring in Ho Chi Minh City in March, 2019 seizing 895 packs of heroin. Police investigators have expanded their probe into the ring. Consequently, early November, they raided five warehouses in the city arresting many Taiwanese who transported drug. Drug investigators have seized 446 packs of heroin worth more than US$6 million from searching these warehouses. Police are hunting a Taiwanese. At the ceremony Senior Lieutenant General Pham Ngoc Minh, Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People’s Army, authorized by the State President, handed over the decision and assigned tasks to the officer at a ceremony held at the Ministry of National Defense Headquarters in Hanoi on April 20. Accordingly, Captain Nguyen Quoc Khanh is to serve as Intelligence Collection Staff Officer at the mission. This is a new position for Vietnamese officers who have been working for the UN peacekeeping operations. At the ceremony, Gen. Vietnam wins 3 gold medals at int’l math Olympiad
The Vietnamese team of six high school students won three gold medals, two silvers and a bronze at the International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO) held in Cape Town, South Africa from July 3 to 13. The news was announced on Saturday by the exam department under the Ministry of Education and Training. Three gold medalists include Tran Hong Quan from Thai Binh High School in northern Thai Binh Province, Pham Tuan Huy from the special high school math training class of the Vietnam National University - Ho Chi Minh City, and Nguyen The Hoan from the special high school math training class of the Vietnam National University - Hanoi. Vuong Nguyen Thuy Dung from Le Quy Don High School in central Da Nang City and Ho Quoc Dang Hung from the special high school math training class of the Vietnam National University - Ho Chi Minh City grabbed two silver medals. Cycling tournament to celebrate Vietnam People’s Army anniversary
PANO – The Vietnam-Crossing Cycling Tournament – the Vietnam Defence Cup 2014 will take place from December 2nd to 16th, announced the organizers at a recent news briefing.
