Bamboo Airways to triple fleet size in 6 years
The airline is set to receive its 22nd narrowbody Airbus A321 jet and fourth widebody Boeing B7s87 this quarter, CEO and chairman Dang Tat Thang told shareholders at the recent extraordinary shareholders’ meeting of its parent company FLC. The airline currently has 29 jets, comprising 21 narrowbody aircraft, three Boeing B787s and five Embraer 190 regional aircraft, according to aviation data website Planespotters. Its competitors Vietnam Airlines operates 99 aircraft, and Vietjet 77. Thang became the new chairman of Bamboo Airways and FLC in March to replace Trinh Van Quyet who was arrested for alleged stock manipulation. The airline saw revenues rising 150 percent between the first and second quarter this year as travel resumed, Thang said. MR3 draws lessons to improve training quality
The lesson-drawing activity was part of the review of ten years of implementing the Central Military Commission’s Resolution 765 on raising quality of training in the 2013-2020 period and the following years. Prudential Vietnam launches new AI-powered mental wellness tools
According to a scientific brief released by the World Health Organization (WHO) in March, the global prevalence of anxiety and depression significantly increased by 25 per cent in the first year of the pandemic. In pre-pandemic Vietnam, according to the statistics published by the Institute of Mental Health under the Hanoi-based Bach Mai Hospital, 30 per cent of the population was diagnosed with various mental health issues, while 25 per cent was related to depression and 15 per cent were caused by stress disorders. Despite close to one in three people being aware of their conditions, only a few sought medical attention. From the above statistics, the mental health of a large population has been heavily affected by the pandemic. Vietnam minister proposes making middle school free next year
Vietnamese Minister of Education and Training Nguyen Kim Son has proposed that education fees be waived for all public middle schools across the country. The education minister put forward the proposal during an online conference with central- and local-level leaders on Monday morning. Son expects that his proposal will benefit students from grade sixth to ninth starting the 2022-23 school year, which is set to begin in less than two months. He requested the education ministry’s sub-units to work with the Ministry of Finance on evaluating the impacts of the proposed tuition exemption and calculating the state budget needed for this plan. Such tuition exemption is not a new proposition of the Ministry of Education and Training. Signal Station A69’s fallen troops commemorated
The event was attended by Head of the Party Central Committee's Commission for Information and Education Nguyen Trong Nghia, Deputy Chief of the General Department of Political Affairs (GDP) Senior Lieutenant General Do Can, leaders of Quang Binh province and the Signal Corps, and representatives from agencies, localities and families of the fallen soldiers.
