The draft Law on Electronic Transactions (revised) has seven chapters and 54 articles. Compared to the current version, the bill has 31 new and nine amended articles, while erasing a number of regulations in five and eliminating three articles. During the morning discussion, NA deputies will decide the investment policy for the project to construct road from National Highway 27C to Road 656 in Khanh Hoa province which links to Lam Dong and Ninh Thuan provinces, as well as the adjustment of the investment policy for Ka Pet reservoir in Ham Thuan Nam district of Binh Thuan province. Last year, Vietnam welcomed over 3.66 million foreign visitors, or over 73% of the target. This year’s figure is set at 8 million, which is an uneasy task. The number of foreign arrivals reached 3.7 million in the first four months of this year, hence, the tourism sector must race to meet the goal. The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, together with several foreign diplomatic missions in Vietnam, the European Chamber of Commerce, the American Chamber of Commerce in Vietnam, the Vietnam Business Forum, the Tourism Advisory Board and the Private Economic Development Research Board (Board IV) also made proposals for a more favorable visa policy to improve the competitiveness of Vietnam’s tourism industry. Dak Lak’s border guard force builds house for needy officer
Non-commissioned Captain Y Tiet Eban is a needy staff of the Border Post of Dak Rue Border Gate. The house was built on an area of 100 sq.m with a total investment of VND 200 million, of which the provincial border guard command donated VND 80 million, and the rest came from Y Tiet Eban’s family. The provincial border guard command’s funding was donated by its cadres and youths through the “100 VND house” program. Y Tiet Eban’s family faced numerous difficulties since his wife’s job is not stable, while his children are regularly sick. Together with assistance to build the house, troops of the Border Post of Dak Rue Border Gate donated VND 25 million to the serviceman’s family. There is very high demand for social housing and in the low-end and lower-middle segments where prices are VND1 billion (US$42,370), VND2 billion and VND3 billion per unit and steady regardless of the state of the market. Tran Xuan Ngoc, CEO of property developer Nam Long Investment Corporation, said 2023 is expected to be an extremely difficult year for the market with challenges greater than during the real estate crisis of 2013, and one of the solutions is to build more housing for occupation rather than investment. Social housing, and affordable and mid-priced houses used to account for some 80% of his company’s product basket, and high-end housing for the remaining 20%, he said. It had maintained this formula for decades, but this year the ratio of high-end housing dropped to just 8%, he said. PVS in talks with foreign investors for renewable energy investments
CEO of PVS Le Manh Cuong said at the firm’s AGM 2023 on May 29 that PVS's involvement in constructing 33 foundations for Taiwanese partners has established an autonomous supply chain, specifically dedicated to PVS and Vietnam as a whole. Cuong recognises Vietnam's extensive shallow water areas and evaluates them as having the greatest potential in the Asia-Pacific region for offshore wind power. As a result, the installation costs of businesses in Vietnam are expected to be more competitive compared to China, South Korea, or Japan. Furthermore, there is a rising demand for renewable energy in the Middle Eastern market, which PVS is actively exploring.
