2019 is viewed as another good year for the middle-end property sector thanks to reasonable prices. The mid-end sector of the market enjoyed a strong performance, with Hanoi topping the list of providers. The villa, row-house, and shophouse sectors also made good progress, buoyed by the increasing demand for residence and investment opportunities from customers. Meanwhile, the first half of 2018 witnessed a massive yet short-term trend of land investment in the northern province of Bac Ninh and other coastal localities, including Nha Trang, Phu Quoc, Quang Ninh, and Danang. However, these trends quickly settled down. As for resort projects, only a few were added to the total supply in 2018. This is largely due to interest in condotels, a “newcomer” in the market, cooling off in … [Read more...] about Changes expected to lay ahead for real estate firms

The figure will include 4.8 trillion VND worth of share and investment fund transactions and 35 trillion VND worth of Government and provincial bond transactions, the SSC said. The securities market has so far drawn 28,300 transaction accounts, an increase of 4,300 over last year. However, the scale of the market remains tiny, failing to satisfy demands to raise capital for economic development, a Finance Ministry official said, adding that it has yet to generate an effective secondary market. At present, the total value of the stock market only accounts for 0.69% of GDP, with the value of share certificates amounting to nearly 1% of GDP. Meanwhile, most companies that listed or registered for trading on the two trading securities centres in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City are small- and medium-sized firms, … [Read more...] about Vietnam stock market to reach 40 billion VND this year

Hanoi Times - Mid-sized Vietnamese companies will get a new opportunity to list on an international stock exchange, thanks to a deal signed yesterday between Ha Noi Securities Corporation (HSSC) and UK-based Asian AIM Incubator Company Limited (AAIC). Although infrastructure and economic-spin-off projects are everywhere in Vietnam, investment is poor. AAIC wanted to bring Vietnamese enterprises an effective channel for capital mobilization. Patrick G Harey, Managing Director of AAIC, said that Vietnam is a land with great potential to develop. "It is in the Alternative Investment Market (AIM) where I want to bring Vietnamese enterprises, as the requirements to list in this market are ideally suited for them," Harey said. AIM is the London Stock Exchange's international market for smaller growing companies. Its objective is to offer smaller growing companies from any country and any industry a chance to raise capital on an international stock market with a pragmatic and … [Read more...] about HSSC creates options overseas for locals
