Speaking at the Global Platform for Disaster Risk Reduction (GPDRR) held in Bali, Indonesia , Amina expressed the UN appreciation to Indonesia for its steps to handle and respond to the pandemic. She described the co un try’s effort to vaccinate 217 million citizens against the pandemic as a great achievement. Localities urged to step up Covid-19 vaccination
According to the ministry, some localities have recently proposed not receiving vaccines or transfer the allocated vaccines, leading to the fact that the COVID-19 vaccination target is likely to be missed. In a recent statement, it stressed that any locality, which don’t receive enough vaccine for the 3rd and fourth shots or let the pandemic occur, will bear responsibilities before the Government and the Prime Minister. The number of vaccines received by the ministry is enough to give the 3rd and 4th shots, it said, requesting localities to set up plans and organize the inoculation of third shots for eligible people. As of May 21, more than 219 million doses of COVID-19 vaccines have been administered nationwide. Vietnamese tech retailers manage to survive Covid-19 pandemic
Many retailers in phone and electronics segments focus on developing online channels to survive during the coronavirus pandemic period. To survive adverse effects of the coronavirus pandemic, many Vietnamese tech retailers have quickly boosted their sales on online platforms as their physical stores nationwide have to close until April 15 to comply with the prime ministerial directive stipulating measures to combat the pandemic. Keeping the growth momentum, Vietnam is now one of the countries with the largest e-commerce market size in the region, besides Indonesia, Thailand, and Malaysia. Vietnam's internet economy in 2021 grew by 31 percent compared to 2020 and reached a scale of $21 billion. Nowadays, however, the flood of endangered wildlife flowing into local markets from nearby Tram Chim National Park and Cambodia seems to have slowed, but across the region traffickers still breed and butcher rare animals. Any animal in demand Though the wildlife trade in Dong Thap is not what it once was, some vendors at Tam Nong Market still deal in rare animals. Tam is one of these vendors. Women in Southeast Asia, such as the Philippines and Vietnam, have fared particularly well in making entrepreneurial progress, despite significant social-cultural and infrastructural barriers threatening to impede their growth. Lack of government SME support, poor access to entrepreneurial finances, and a severe lack of education opportunities remain the major constraints to advancing women’s entrepreneurship in Asia’s lower-middle-income economies. Encompassing 65 economies and 82.4% of the global female labor force, the fifth edition of Mastercard’s Index for Women Entrepreneurs (MIWE) examined women’s progress in the global entrepreneurship landscape over the last two years. The findings reveal that despite worldwide efforts to mitigate the pandemic’s effects, women have experienced considerable economic and social implications.
