At the meeting, Vo Van Tuan, Deputy Director of the provincial Department of Labor, Invalids, and Social Affairs said that in the national salvation cause, Fatherland protection war, and in doing international duties, the armed forces and people of Vinh Long province stayed united, promoted patriotism, joined hands with troops and people throughout the country to contribute personnel and materials, for the national liberation and reunification. The province has managed more than 70,000 policy beneficiaries and national contributors, including 16,300 fallen troops, 4,500 wounded soldiers, 2,850 heroic Vietnamese mothers with 96 who are still alive. During a plenary session in the morning, they focused on the draft Law on Implementation of Democracy at Grassroots Level and the draft Law on Emulation and Reward (amended). In the afternoon, two other draft revised laws, comprising the Law on Domestic Violence and the Law on Insurance Business, were tabled for discussions.
