There were a number of landslides along Cam Mountain in Tinh Bien Town last month following heavy rains. Authorities determined that most of the illegal homestays, built on steep slopes with temporary structures having poor load-bearing capacity, pose safety risks in the rainy season. Illegal construction on the mountain, home to Buddhist pagodas and sacred temples, has flourished since last year. Despite authorities' warnings, these homestays have remained in operation. At the end of 2022, An Giang Province decided to let these projects exist on the condition that the current status quo be maintained and assigned Tinh Bien authorities to manage these homestays. Therefore, when Tinh Bien authorities asked them to stop operating and proposed forced dismantling, the homestay owners objected. According to the Cam Mountain Tourist Area management, the homestays serve around 7,000 visitors a day and cost VND300,000-500,000. Can Tho inaugurates nine-storey parking centre

(Photo: VNA) Can Tho (VNA) – A nine-storey car and motorbike parking centre was inaugurated and put into operation in the Mekong Delta city of Can Tho on September 20. Covering an area of 2,600 sq.m and built with total investment of 158 billion VND (6.5 million USD), the parking centre can accommodate 1,000 cars and motorbikes with smart technology. This is the first, largest and most modern of its kind in the city. It has two large capacity elevators to lift cars to park on floors while motorcycles have separate ways to the floors in a spiral direction. Major US companies, including SpaceX, aim to expand investment in Vietnam
Some top international and U.S. firms such as SpaceX, the Coca-Cola Company, and Pacifico Energy are planning to expand their operations in Vietnam, heard the receptions hosted by Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh for these firms’ leaders in New York City on Wednesday (local time).
