The protocol on phytosanitary requirements for Vietnamese durian exported to China is effective within three years. It will be sent to the General Administration of Customs of China and published on its portal, together with lists of eligible durian growing areas and packing facilities of Viet Nam. Chinese authorities approve import of Vietnamese durians
China has begun importing durians grown in Vietnam via all border gates starting early this week. On July 11, the Vietnamese Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development and the General Administration of Customs of China (GACC) signed a protocol on phytosanitary requirements for durians shipped from Vietnam to its northern neighbor. Under the protocol, which will be valid for three years, Vietnamese durians will be permitted to enter China through all border gates approved for GACC fruit imports. Chinese officials are expected to check relevant documents and complete any necessary phytosanitary processes upon the arrival of durians at border gates.
